Give your eBike the TLC it needs and it will give you many years of happy riding. Incorporate these 5 steps into your riding routine:
Pump Tyres Regularly
An eBike is most certainly heavier than a regular MTB, which will put more weight on the tyres. More weight = more pressure. Pumping every 2nd to 3rd ride is the norm to keep your tyres in a well maintained state.
Healthy Battery Habit
Nobody likes a flat battery before the end of a ride. Make sure to charge the battery immediately after every ride and once fully charged, remove from the charger.
Discs & Brake Pads
If you’re riding your eBike regularly, have your disc brakes and pads checked every 6-8 weeks. A fast bike (which is also heavy) will use brake pads and these, on any MTB, need to be well maintained.
Healthy Chain Habit
Lube your chain before every ride. A chain is made up of no less than 100 links. Lube makes sure that friction is kept to a minimum, therefore prolonging the life of your chain and cluster.
Handle Bars and Stem
Avoid surprises! Regularly check that your handle bar and stem are tightened. With vibrations from riding, screws may loosen over time.
